Explanation
of the Copyright Declaration
When
a Healthinfo4u search is conducted, at the bottom of each list of
articles you will find an order form. Underneath the box that you
complete with your name and address details is a "copyright
declaration". This kind of declaration is required by law (namely
the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, and The Copyright(Librarians
and Archivists)(Copying of Copyright Material) Regulations 1989)
whenever
copies of published documents are supplied to readers.
This
applies to the articles that Healthinfo4u distributes free of charge
to readers, who must agree to the copyright declaration before an
order can be completed. Below is the full declaration as it appears
under the order form.
Users
of Healthinfo4u should click in the "AGREE" box on the
order form to indicate agreement and to complete the order.
"I
declare that:
a) I have not previously been supplied with a copy of the same material
by you or any other
librarian;
b) I will not use the copy except for research or private study;
and
c) To the best of my knowledge no other person with whom I work
or study has made or intends to make, at or about the same time
as this request, a request for substantially the same material for
substantially the same purpose.
I understand
that if the declaration is false in a material particular, the copy
supplied to me by you will be an infringing copy and that I shall
be liable for infringement of copyright as if I had made the copy
myself."
